Drone mapping and surveying in Xàbia and the Marina Alta
fita is based in Xàtiva and we also serve the Marina Alta (Xàbia, Dénia…). We take on surveying, photogrammetry, LiDAR, thermography and construction monitoring projects in the Marina Alta, a district of steep terrain, coastline and hillside developments where drone mapping saves difficult fieldwork.
Drone mapping and surveying in Xàbia
From our office in Xàtiva we serve developers, architecture practices, engineering firms, contractors and local councils in the Marina Alta. Every project is led by Vicent Doménech, a geodesy and cartography engineer, who is the technical contact from start to finish.
We measure with drone, GNSS RTK and total station. Data is delivered in official ETRS89 coordinates (UTM, in the appropriate zone), ready for design, cadastre and construction.
Our office does not limit the work: we also carry out projects in the rest of the Valencia region, across Spain and in Europe.
The terrain of the Marina Alta and the Montgó
The Marina Alta mixes coastline, hills and farmed valleys in a small area. The Montgó, between Dénia and Xàbia, defines the relief of the district, and around it there are slopes with scrub and pine woodland.
On hillside developments and plots with steep slopes, a LiDAR and photogrammetry survey provides the DTM, contour lines and 3D model that the project needs without walking the terrain.
In areas of scrub and pine woodland, LiDAR's multiple returns help record the ground through the gaps in the vegetation. We classify the ground points and check the coverage obtained.
The farmed valleys and terraces around Gata de Gorgos, Pego or La Vall de Pop call for plot orthophotos and a DTM for irrigation, retaining walls and drainage.
On new building sites and earthworks, drone monitoring compares states of the terrain between surveys and calculates volumes within a defined area.
Drone surveying services in Xàbia and the Marina Alta
We choose the capture method according to the terrain and the deliverable, not the other way round.
- Drone surveying: topographic plan, DTM and contour lines for plots and developments
- Drone photogrammetry: orthophotos, DSMs and 3D models
- Drone LiDAR: classified point cloud and DTM beneath vegetation
- Drone thermography: roofs and solar PV installations
- Drone construction monitoring: progress and volumes by date
Flights, coast and protected areas
The coastline, built-up areas and protected areas, such as the Montgó Natural Park, have specific flight rules. When authorisation or prior coordination is needed, it is arranged when the work is planned and allowed for in the schedule.
The area covered per day depends on the terrain, the sensor, the resolution required, the airspace and the planning; we set it in the flight plan for each project.
Questions about work in Xàbia
Do you cover Xàbia and the Marina Alta?
Yes. fita is based in Xàtiva, in La Costera, and we also serve the Marina Alta (Xàbia, Dénia…).
Which areas do you cover in the Marina Alta?
The Marina Alta (Dénia, Xàbia, Calp, Benissa, Teulada-Moraira, Pego and surroundings) and the rest of the province of Alicante. Our office does not limit the work: we also carry out projects across Spain and in Europe.
Is LiDAR useful on slopes with pine woodland and scrub?
Yes. Multiple returns help record the ground through the gaps in the vegetation. We classify the ground points and check the coverage obtained, which can be sparse beneath very dense vegetation.
What deliverables do I receive to design a hillside development?
Typically a DTM, contour lines at the interval the project requires, profiles and an orthophoto, in DWG, DXF, SHP or GeoTIFF. They are agreed in the proposal together with the accuracy and the control report.
Can you fly near the coast or in the Montgó Natural Park?
It depends on the airspace and the area. On the coast and in protected areas, authorisation or prior coordination may be needed, which is arranged when the flight is planned.
Tell us where the project is and what you need to solve
You can send us the site boundary, a plan or the specification. We will reply within one or two working days to review the scope and confirm when you can expect the proposal.
