Drone mapping and surveying in Xàtiva
fita is based in Xàtiva, the capital of La Costera, and we also serve the Marina Alta (Xàbia, Dénia…). From Xàtiva we take on surveying, photogrammetry, LiDAR, thermography and construction monitoring projects in La Costera, La Safor, La Ribera and the rest of the province of Valencia, with a single technical contact.
Drone mapping and surveying from Xàtiva
Our office lets us serve engineering firms, developers, contractors and local councils in the area with a nearby technical contact: Vicent Doménech, a geodesy and cartography engineer, who leads every project and is responsible for the delivery.
We measure with drone, GNSS RTK and total station. Data is delivered in official ETRS89 coordinates (UTM, in the appropriate zone), ready for design, cadastre and construction.
Our office does not limit the work: we also carry out projects in the rest of the Valencia region, across Spain and in Europe.
The terrain of La Costera, La Safor and La Ribera
La Costera combines the huerta farmland and the industrial estates around Xàtiva with the hills that surround them. For planning and industrial estates we deliver base mapping of warehouses, roads and urban development; on slopes, a DTM and contour lines that are easy to read.
La Ribera is irrigated farmland with citrus and persimmon in small plots, beside the Xúquer valley. Plot orthophotos, multispectral analysis and a DTM for irrigation and drainage fit well here.
La Safor brings together a coastal plain, marshland and hills close to the sea. For flood-risk and drainage studies, fita provides the DTM and the drainage network and catchments; the hydraulic study is signed by whoever is qualified to do so.
The corridors of the A-7, the A-35, the railway and the power lines that cross the area are mapped with LiDAR: conductors, towers, vegetation and clearances in a single point cloud.
Further inland, La Canal de Navarrés and La Vall d'Albaida have sloping, vegetated terrain, where LiDAR records the ground through the gaps and the DTM is the basis for solar PV plants and wind farms.

What is needed to request a drone surveying proposal?
The perimeter of the site (KML, SHP or plan), the intended use of the data and the deliverables you need: orthophoto, DTM, contour lines or point cloud. With that we define the capture method, the resolution and the accuracy.
What accuracy can be expected?
The typical value is 2 to 5 cm, expressed as root mean square error (RMSE), over open ground or well-defined surfaces and checked against independent checkpoints. The accuracy of each project is agreed in the proposal and documented in the control report.
Can you fly in the centre of Xàtiva or in protected areas?
It depends on the airspace and the area. When authorisation or coordination is needed, it is arranged when the flight is planned and allowed for in the project schedule.
